Patients with insurance are also welcome to attend the one-stop clinic - an initial consultation fee and test fees will be billed separately to your insurer

One-Stop Cardiology Clinic

The One-Stop Cardiology Clinic is available at both the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle and the Circle Cheshire Clinic

The clinic offers an initial cardiology consultation, ECG, echocardiogram and discussion of the results within a 60 minute appointment. The echocardiogram will be performed by Dr Luckie who is fully accredited in echocardiography by the British Society of Echocardiography and has worked as a consultant cardiologist specialising in echocardiography for over 10 years.

Any additional investigations recommended can be organised following the clinic and further follow-up appointments are available if required.

Following the clinic a full report will be sent to you and to your General Practitioner.

Clinics are available on Mondays and Wednesdays although other appointment times can be made available on request - please get in touch with Helen to discuss this further.

The One-Stop Cardiology clinic offers initial assessment and investigations for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions or where you have general concerns about your cardiac health. The clinic is particularly suitable for:

Initial Assessment of Symptoms:

Cardiac problems can result in several different symptoms. The clinic can provide an initial assessment of symptoms which can be an indicator of cardiac disease and offer guidance on need for any further investigations. Symptoms of cardiac disease may include:

  • Chest pain
  • Breathlessness
  • Palpitations
  • Dizziness / Light-headedness / Blackouts

Cardiac alerts from smart devices such as Apple watches or other wearable heart rate / cardiac monitors can also be assessed in the clinic.

Heart Valve Disease / Murmurs

  • You have been told you have a murmur which requires investigation
  • You have heart valve disease - such as mitral regurgitation or aortic stenosis - which requires monitoring or more detailed assessment
  • You have had heart valve surgery which requires monitoring or you are concerned about the function of a previous heart valve repair or replacement

ECG abnormalities

  • You have had an ECG which is abnormal and echocardiogram has been recommended

Heart Failure

  • You have symptoms of breathlessness, fatigue or fluid retention / ankle swelling and are worried about possible heart failure
  • You have been told your BNP or NT pro-BNP blood test is elevated and echocardiogram has been recommended

Family History of Cardiac Disease / Family Screening

You have a family history of a genetic condition - eg. hypertrophic cardiomyopathy / dilated cardiomyopathy / heart valve abnormalities such as bicuspid aortic valve - and family screening has been recommended
