Dr Matthew Luckie

Matthew Luckie is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise across a wide range of cardiac conditions.

His NHS work is based at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in Blackpool which offers complex, tertiary cardiology and cardiac surgery services for patients based in Lancashire and South Cumbria, where he is the cardiac imaging lead.

He offers private cardiology consultations and investigations for patients across Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, Cheshire and at the Circle Cheshire Clinic in Northwich, Cheshire.

He completed cardiology training in the North West in 2012 and has worked at specialist cardiac centres both in Blackpool and in Manchester since being appointed a consultant. He therefore has a broad experience in the assessment of patients with a wide range of cardiac symptoms and conditions.

He has specific expertise in cardiac imaging and echocardiography, an important test in the initial assessment of most cardiac complaints. He also offers stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography for more detailed assessment of certain cardiac conditions.

Cardiac care often involves several areas of specialism in cardiac disease. Dr Luckie works closely with other expert consultants who can provide coronary intervention (angioplasty and stenting), pacemaker implant, ablation procedures and cardiac surgery - including minimally invasive keyhole surgical options where this may be appropriate.
